INTRO

While the story of DOM Gear’s founders Rocky Haire & Bryan Griffin, two business men from very different backgrounds is interesting, it also goes to show you that you cannot always judge a book by its cover.  The fact that the only common ground these two men seemed to have was their love for MMA fighting made their differences all the more noticeable to others.  But it was these differences that made this unusual partnership although improbable, appeal to the bad boy nature of MMA fighters.

DOM’S STORY

Rocky Haire the founder of a successful law Firm in Denton, Texas was walking to his car one day when the wind blew a piece of paper across his path.  Whether it was by chance or by Divine providence only God knows.  That piece of paper happened to be Bryan Griffin’s application to Angel Tree which is a foundation that sends out Christmas presents to the children of inmates.   

Rocky without thinking picked up the letter and decided to write Bryan asking him if he needed anything while he was in prison.  Rocky made arrangements for gifts but as time went on he eventually forgot because he heard nothing back for months.  Bryan had received the letter but because of his circumstances thought that it was probably just more bad news from another lawyer. 

One day Bryan decided to opened the letter and to his surprise it was actually good news for a change.  He wrote back immediately thanking Rocky for writing but stated that he didn’t need anything.  He stated that he would be fine because he was actually quite wealthy.  Over time a friendship grew between Rocky and Bryan and when the day of Bryan’s release drew near he prepared to find Rocky once he was released. 

On the surface Rocky and Bryan’s different backgrounds would show like night and day to most people.  Despite the differences their business sense and love for MMA fighting made this partnership become a reality.  Their vision was to create a brand that brought quality and premium MMA gear to a global market.  Unlike most companies though, DOM Gear’s main purpose wasn’t just to make money, gain power or be number one in its market.  Its main purpose was to help make money to support fighters and the sport they love, gain power by being recognized for doing good in the community and be number one for teaching tolerance and proving that everyone deserves a second chance.    It’s this reasoning and their unique story that makes this company a success when compared with other competitors.
